Abstract

This paper addresses challenges related to political participation of
immigrants and/or third country nationals (TCNs) in Poland and provides
both legal and policy information on its framework. Drawing on both official
statistical data and research findings the paper reports empirical results from
the comprehensive qualitative study DivPol. The authors do hope its findings
will stimulate further, in-depth research on barriers that need to be overcome

in order to increase the participation of immigrants in Poland, and support
discussion on arguments, if there are any, to make the case for the diversity
and long-term cohesion of democracy.
